sometimes.. you just crave a change
a change of pace.. scenery.. new friends.. perhaps old friendships
rekindled
what’s old becomes new
♥
I have been faithful to my Smidge’s Granola recipe for years..
{ I could probably fill my entire pantry with the number of bags I’ve made and frozen. }
I’m all about loyalty.. but, to be honest,
I just couldn’t bear to look at a bowl of that predictable granola recipe one more time!
I longed for something different, fresh and surprising,
so my daughter and I scanned the aisles for inspiration.
♥
We’re so excited that we’ve created not one,
but three new healthy granola flavors for you to flirt with..
I can vouch for all of them, if only because
I can never decide which one I would like to sit down to breakfast with!
{ Apple Cinnamon Crisp, Chocolate Cherry Coconut, and Brown Butter Pecan }
If they seem too sweet for you, they can be reduced..
We often switch up the “flakes” cereal that we choose to add.
We usually spoon our favorite yogurt in a bowl, scoop in some granola and stir…
♥
{ p.s. I just began reading “A Moveable Feast”..
I took a leap of faith and bought it in hardcover, I think it will be a keeper! }

Yummmmm! Thank you for these, they look just the ticket for a good start to any day.
wow. amazing stuff! never looked granola more appealing! and the chocolate one… yum!
Oh wow, these sound very good. Thank you! You guys (my food bloggers) are really getting me hooked on granola right now. It really is the perfect breakfast, and having a bunch of different recipes means no boredom 🙂 I love that.
Thanks again Barb!
Je t’aime parce que tu me donnes cette recette aujourd’hui 😉
It is sooo delicious my friend thank you!
Cheers

It’s the perfect time for granola! These all look sooo good!! THANK you for sharing all of these, you girls have been getting WILD in the kitchen!
Granola. something I never had … all three here looks so good .. my favourite is the apple one or the chocolate or the pecan. I eat crunchy cereals every day … maybe I should my own. Didn’t know that it is something we can freeze. Won’t it go soggy.
It’s such a good idea to make your own cereal. How wonderful that in your pantry you have a choice of three. They all look and sound delicious and I just can’t decide which one I’d choose. That’s a lovely start to the day xx
Moi aussi… thank you for 3 lovely inspirations.
All three are winners, Smidge! Thanks for sharing some inspiring variations!
What delicious granola variations!
They all sound like winners to me, but that brown butter pecan is killing me. On my list to make ASAP!
That looks so much healthier than mine since I only use rolled oats! Yum!
These all look so good, Smidge. I’m gaga for dried cherries … I wonder how they would taste in the Brown Butter Pecan Granola? (There you go, just can’t leave well enough alone!)
Thank you so much for these fabulous recipes! Delish!
I’ve never used bran flakes in a granola before, What a great idea because it adds that much needed fiber. I’m lusting after the Brown butter pecan! YUM!
I adore having granola on my Greek yogurt in the morning…my fave breakfast, but something has been missing. Oh yes, it ISN’T homemade. These three recipes are calling to me to rectify that very soon. Thank you. 🙂
All 3 sounds delicious, Barb, and just could make a breakfast eater out of me. That’s no small achievement. One thing, though. Is it wise to offer, in print no less, your favorite? What if the other two find out and don’t like it? It’s a terrible thing when good granola goes bad. 🙂
What great inspiration! Brown butter? Why haven’t I done that before? Sounds amazing. 🙂
The picture on the scales is very cool indeed.
Oh my Smidge, which one to try first, they all sounds fantastic!
🙂 Mandy
Three! They look really good, such pretty pictures!
I’m all for homemade granola and it’s the perfect time for it too! your recipe sounds absolutely fantastic!
I really must get off my lazy butt and make some granola! My only fear is that I will enjoy it…too much. That’s the problem with reading such quality blogs, they are too inspiring and make me hungry even after I just ate. Granola is something that has been on my list to make for ages, and the gourmet selection is ridiculously expensive (Max’s Fine Foods sells a small bag for $10!! Ten bucks for granola????) Thanks Barbara, I will try to make it soon. Have a great weekend, hope the snow has melted.
I love granola! And you give us 3 ways to make it. I had yogurt for breakfast this morning when I could have had granola. 🙁 I definitely need to make some. Thanks for sharing.
Moi aussi: J’ aime granola. I am eating way too many patisseries for breakfast here in Italy so I think I will make a batch of granola when I get home. These sound delicious but I need to check when if I can source Bran bud cereal.
Brown butter pecan and chocolate cherry coconut have my name written all over them – thanks for the inspiration. It’s too easy to get stuck in the same old routine, isn’t it? My favorite way to change things up granola-wise is to go to the natural foods/bulk store and look for interesting ingredients – it’s amazing how many kinds of rolled/flaked grains there are to choose from besides oats!
This is the kind of thing I am eating at the moment as my quest to lose weight continues. I mean given the choice I’d go for bacon and eggs in the morning but I do like the idea of chocolate in granola – thanks for cheering me up!
I say yes three times over… We are the same with our meusli (the word I can never remember the position of e and u). Now I’m changing it up! Hubby will be thrilled.
Et moi aussi… 🙂
Phil is very partial to his recipe, but I might surprise him baking a batch of one of these – lovely round up!
I also need to change my granola recipe. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Wow Barbara! I think I’ll love them all, but the Apple Cinnamon Crisp Granola sounds especially enticing 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Yes, the apple one sounds perfect for this time of year! mmmmmm. I haven’t made granola in YEARS!!! You inspire me.
J’aime granola aussi! My newfound love and enjoyment. I think the brown butter pecan is calling out to me!! So perfect for breakfast with Greek yoghurt!
Love granola – you know, I never even thought of putting dried apple inside before… what a great idea! Must be a wonderful flavour addition 🙂
A trifecta ! You could have chosen of course (if you were a mere mortal like the rest of us!) to stretch three gorgeous granolas into three posts…but such is not Style ala Smidge! So deary, they all sound quite delicious, where to start…..? xxoo (and i so hope you’re feeling spunky again Barb!)
A wee bit better.. but not enough to go out, as you can see.. I’m here reading blogs on a Saturday night:( Thanks for your sweet words:)
Each is quite special, but I must try Chocolate Cherry Coconut! Wow! I think this would be a great holiday gift, myself! I wish I had some right now. 🙂 I love ” A Moveable Feast,” too. I think it was worth the investment! oxo
I love the mixture and textures of that granola, definitely a healthy way to start the day
Thanks, it’s a healthy dish for sure!
It’s my first time here in your blog and let me just say that I love granola!!! I put it in my yogurt!
peachy of http://www.thepeachkitchen.com
I’ll come visit you!
All 3 granolas sound wonderful, I have to say the chocolate one is my favorite, I would probably add chocolate chips ot it as well. Hope you are fully recovered.
Now that’s a great idea. I’m getting better each day, I suspect it was the flu, not just a cold! xx
Nothing beats a healthy snack, right?
My mouth is watering reading these recipes! I love granola.
Love the brown butter pecan granola! What a great combination of flavors. Can’t wait to try that one out 🙂
I want some of this now! 🙂
Chocolate Cherry Coconut Granola – you got some of my favorite granola ingredients together. =P
Only you Barb could make granola look so romantic and lovely! I never thought of freezing granola! What a shock, silly me! Now I don’t have any excuses to try all of these recipes! Some for me and some to give and some to freeze 🙂
