Every Hallowe’en families have to decide who will walk with the wee Trick or Treaters
&
who will stay home to hand out the candy
{or play tricks}
♥
Without fail, it snows here on or before that hallow’d day and children wail as their coats are shoved under or over their really cool costumes..
unless, of course, they already have a fur coat!
I made my kid’s costumes.. but now in their 20’s, they come up with their own, and there’s a whole lot less fur involved!
I didn’t mind going around the neighborhood, trying to keep up with my kids was great exercise.
But it was always freezing.. so when I saw a bottle of this
I knew I had to create a new adult recipe for all your moms, dads, grandparents and babysitters..
who will be shivering outside on Hallowe’en night!
I’ve dubbed this one
The Naughty Whipped Pumpkin Spice Latté!
After very little thought, I’ve decided that even if you’re just relaxing inside by the fire and waiting for these little goblins to chime out “Trick or Treat!”.. I think you deserve one of these adult beverages as well!
It’s so simple.. get an extra large festive mug, add a heaping teaspoonful of Smidge’s Pumpkin Spice Latté Mix..
fill with 3/4 cup of milk and steam..
Add one or two shots of espresso and one shot of Pinnacle Whipped Vodka (more or less as you wish)
and top with whipped cream and sprinkle with pumpkin spice.
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 heaping teaspoon Pumpkin Spice Latté Mix
- (https://justasmidgen.com/2013/10/28/starbucks-pumpkin-spice-latte-recipe/)
- 1-2 shots espresso
- 1 shot Pinnacle Whipped Vodka
- whipped cream
- pumpkin spice
- Measure 3/4 cup of milk into a large mug. Add one heaping teaspoonful of Pumpkin Spice Latte Mix. Steam to desired temperature and then add one or two shots of espresso. Add 1 shot Pinnacle Whipped Vodka and stir well. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with pumpkin spice.
Of course Smidge had to taste test this for you. It was tough to do first thing in the morning.
You are SO naughty! (in Such a good way!!) I have a few people I’ll be sending this to and we’ll be toasting ourselves and each other by the fire with this one! Beautiful, Smidge! Xx
I’m not one for halloween but I’d certainly embrace this tradition – fabulous latte 🙂
You do have some wonderful ideas Barbara! Happy Halloween -have fun! 😉
Now, that is my kind of latte!!! I’ve seen that liquor but haven’t tried it yet…guess I now have a reason to buy it!
Happy Halloween!!
I hadn’t either, Linda, but I now see there are so many new flavors available, the possibilities for cooking as well are endless:)
Oh if only I’d had this recipe earlier! That’s fine, I can find an excuse any evening for something this good. The photos of the children in their costumes are so cute. Wonderful memories! ox
I tried to get it up sooner, Deb, it’s been a bit crazy around here!
Your blog is great. You are doing great job. Keep it up
Thanks so much, Faisal, glad you could stop by:)
Oh yum! Since vodka and I don’t get along very well, I may have to try rum instead. Great for a Christmas party too. 🙂
Okay, I will stay home and make these!
🙂 Mandy xo
I could use one this morning, sigh..
I love the look of all the whipped cream on this warming drink. And your children’s costumes from yesteryear are so cute – especially the bunny! And we have the opposite problem here where trick or treating begins late afternoon with the harsh hot sun beating down on the kids causing them to be in an uncomfortable sweat as they walk the streets – you don’t see anyone in fur – that would be suicide in all the heat! xx
My, my, your idea of naughty is ever so nice!
Does the vodka have a natural flavor to it?
Oh, Mimi, I don’t think any vodka tastes “natural”, I’m not a huge drinker, usually only sipping the occasional wine. But in this drink it had a more subtle taste, I’m not sure what it would be like on its own. I hope that helps? xx
Oh Barbara! This looks wonderful! I will definitely try this! 😉
OH MY! What a treat! 😉 That whipped cream on top looks PERFECT!
Well, darn! I missed this for this Halloween, but you can bet I’m making this anyway. This looks so darn good – perfect for sitting by the far on a cold night. Now if only I could get my whipped topping as pretty as yours. 😉 Happy November Smidge!
Happy November to you as well, Kristy!
I love this naughty beverage. I love all the different flavors of vodka that’s available now. There will be lots of cold days ahead of us to enjoy this 🙂
I agree, Sandra, my friend told me about grape vodka.. so I’ll be checking that one out this spring! Problem is, the bottles are way to huge for me to ever use up, lol!
Saved to my recipe folder. yum.
I love this adult latte! Not familiar with Pinnacle Whipped vodka but I’m now on the prowl for it. What a lovely holiday drink! Thanks! Love the costume you made for the kids and the picture.
