I’ve always seen the glass “half full”,
always brimming with optimism..
{ In fact I was totally shocked when I don’t win the Lotto Max this week.. I mean, what the hell?? }
♥
This year
Easter
won’t arrive with
hot cross buns or egg hunts
or a
glazed ham
baking in my oven..
it will be a quiet one this year, for sure, since both kids are busy,
but I get to see them tons the rest of the year so I’m ok with that!
I still have my tulips
my chocolate bunnies
and chocolate eggs.. { even if I can’t eat them } I think they’re so pretty on my desk!
♥
And today I got an invitation to lunch tomorrow.. so how lucky am I??!!
So even though Easter will be
different
I think that it will be
perfectly
wonderfully new.. and lovely, however it turns out.
♥
I love being sunny and hopeful..
I may come across as too innocent, child-like even naive to some, but I am far from it..
I just prefer being optimistic
to being jaded and indifferent to every amazing
possibility
waiting for me.. no, for every possibility that is waiting
for us..
♥
Because I think everyone deserves to win, everyone deserves a shot.. if they dream it.. work for it.. are open to every wonderful
possibility
♥
If you look up
“milestone”
all sorts of synonyms appear..
celebration
ceremony
breakthrough
landmark
.. all words I fully expected
but I was surprised to also see
calamity
incident
and
catastrophe
♥
Sometimes we fall short of the mark..
I checked in with my trainer today and have a body fat reading of 20% ?
not what I had hoped, and… not clearly what he had hoped either
but ever the optimist, I thought it had to have been
super high
before I started exercising!
So I patted myself on the back for a job well done, took a photo to mark my
milestone
to celebrate how far I’ve come
and now I’m setting a new goal..
and checking back in
in one month’s time.
I’m no quitter…
♥
A
Banana Split
seemed fitting for a celebration..
but of course I changed it into a smoothie..
{ I love how the strawberries are shaped like hearts }
No fitness goal was ever reached by eating a Banana Split.
Sadly, while very healthy, I think this one still falls short of the mark for what I’m supposed to be eating..
so I probably won’t have another one of these until I reach the next
milestone
♥

Sometimes a quiet holiday is a welcome event, Barb. Most of them are just too hectic and busy for us to just enjoy the day.
Barb you look fantastic! I’m on a mission myself after a continuing battle with a health issue. But I keep moving forward and working to stay healthy and trying desperately to get in shape and stay there. Love, love this Banana Smith Smoothie and I’m absolutely going to make one today for breakfast. Delicious! Wishing you well and sending hugs. K
You are the most Beautiful, Strong, Courageous women I know. Please know your friends love you and will always be there for you. From one optimist to another.

I love your optimism! Choosing optimism is a form of courage in a cynical world. And you look great!
It sounds to me like you had a wonderful Easter, Barb. Any day that includes a banana split — in any form — has got to be good. 🙂
Banana split? Why yes, I’d love one! It’s been WAY too long since my last one. Thanks for reminding me it’s one of the important things in life. Really nice post, BTW.
