I think the most challenging thing about living in a small space is that it is so easy for it to feel cluttered. I’ve been so creative finding storage that I have also managed to lose things. I have misplaced the battery pack for my camera amongst other items, but this morning I managed to find the Boho Beach Bag I’ve been looking for. This was so much fun to make and perfect for the lake. This post has tons of pictures of our cottage so is worth taking a peek.
With so much rain, this weekend felt like the perfect time to “deconstruct” my little living room.
I am back into teal blues and whites that remind me of the ocean and seashells.
If you’ve been here for a while you’ll recognize this tray and white coral. I like how fresh it feels in here now!
My little crystal grid has just been moved to my side table, where it looks quite pretty next to the peonies.
And this bookshelf is filled with coral and shells, some of them are real. There is a little story behind these, I had refused to sell the “contents” of our other place at the lake because I didn’t want to give up my shell collection. I was willing to relinquish everything.. except the shells and my girlfriend thought I was crazy! (“You would walk away from a real estate deal because of your shells?”) But I had curated and gathered these shells and so they felt like a tiny part of who I am. I guess I felt I was already giving up a place where so many memories had been made. They have been with me ever since and are a lovely reminder of times past with my kids. Even the tiniest of items can spark simple joy, so remember to find little corners in your home for these little home treasures!
