Autumn is the such a brief but beautiful gift. I love this poem “An Autumn Evening” by Lucy Maud Montgomery, because she transforms bare trees into harps for the wind. She reminds us there is still joy to be found in our life’s change of seasons as well, a poem like this reminds us to take note of fall and all of life’s splendor.

Our family is off to visit the Pumpkin Patch and the Calgary Corn Maze this afternoon for our annual fall photo shoot.. I’m so excited, we’ve never been there before!

A very happy, blessed (Canadian) Thanksgiving sweet friend. A very beautiful post!
Happy Thanksgiving! I really wish the US celebrated Thanksgiving in October. The way we do it puts too many holidays too close together.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving. Looking forward to reading about the pumpkin patch and the Calgary Corn Maze. Have a splendid time.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I bet your photos turn out amazing.

I always say to myself, ‘If we’re going to have Spring, we have to have Winter’! I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving and I hope you share your celebration with us xx
I look very forward to seeing the annual photo shoot!
Sounds like you’ve a great time in store. Enjoy yourselves, Barb, and have a fantastic Thanksgiving.
How lovely! Thanks for sharing that poem with us. I love L. M. Montgomery’s books (the Anne of Green Gables series and the Emily of New Moon series) but I have never read her poems.
Have a happy Thanksgiving and a happy autumn.
Very beautiful images. Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving Smidge.
🙂 Mandy xo
And a happy Canadian thanksgiving to you and your family x
Happy Thanksgiving to you too … something we don’t celebrate at all over here, but I like that you celebrate it already in October, because that is really when all harvest is done. Great quote and photo, so lovely to land here again … so soon. *smile
Happy Thanksgiving to you too Barbara…Look forward to your ‘fall’ pictures… Diane
