*Large chunk white Callebaut chocolate or small chips
*dried mango
*dried pineapple
M&M's (they won't melt in your hand)
raisins
dried cranberries
Instructions
Pick up an assortment of nuts and seeds in the bulk section of your grocery store. I buy equal amounts of the larger nuts and a few cups less of the seeds. I usually buy all unsalted but do buy salted and pre-roasted sunflower seeds. This add a bit of salt to the trail mix.
Once home, preheat your oven to 325F.
Mix your nuts and seeds (except for the sunflower seeds) together in a large roasting pan. Bake but remember to stir every 15 minutes or so. Repeat until the nuts have browned. Stir in the pumpkin seeds.
Once the nuts, seeds and the pan have completely cooled, stir in any of the remaining ingredients you wish. The items starred are the ones we usually use for our GORP, but you can use any combination you like.
This is a recipe you can really tailor to your personal taste, but we really love the white chocolate and dried mango or pineapple in ours. White chocolate just seems perfect for a cold winter day!
