A Midsummer’s Night Dream Soap Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 block in chunks (of a 2 lb) package Shea Butter Soap { Michaels Hobby Shop }
  • 1 tsp peppermint and mint extract
  • 1 tsp rose water
  • 1 small package A Midsummer Night's Dream Tea { David's Tea }
  • 2 cup pyrex measuring cup
  • plastic spoon
  • 5-6 silicone cupcake liners
  • small non-stick loaf pan 5 1/2" x 3" x 2 1/4" high mine are from Williams-Sonoma
Instructions
  1. Prepare a tiny non-stick loaf pan (5 1/2" x 3" x 2 1/4" high) by measuring and cutting out then lining the bottom of the loaf pan with a piece of waxed paper.
  2. Cut out 1/4 of the 2 lb packaged block of Shea butter. Cut into 1" chunks and put in a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup. Microwave in 30 second bursts 2 to 3 times, checking and stirring frequently with a plastic spoon until all of the soap has melted.
  3. Pour into prepared loaf pan.
  4. Alternately, pour into silicone cupcake liners. 1/4 of the package will make about 5 soaps.
  5. Allow the soap's surface to cool and begin setting.
  6. Sprinkle the tea overtop and press gently into the surface of the soap.
  7. Allow to set completely overnight. To remove, heat a knife under hot running water then cut around the edge of the loaf pan, the soap will pop out, then remove the waxed paper. To cut into squares, heat the knife again and slice. To remove from the muffin cups, just pop them out as you would a muffin.
