What do you do when you’ve been on a holiday filled with sun, sand and roses?
And you return to this…
I know it’s beautiful.. but surely not in May?? Even for us this abundance of snow is unusual and uncalled for.
On the way home from the airport we discussed moving..
and my friend said,
“You can always make new friends, but you can’t make old friends.”
I would miss my “old friends” if we moved..
so instead of wishing for life to be different, I choose to celebrate
our home, our family, our puppy and our friends, old and new..
it is always good to be home.. even with a snowy welcome!
♥
If I can’t have my garden yet, I can make a little bit of a spring cherry blossom wreath using four faux cherry blossom branches,
some floral wire and scissors.
Just overlap, twist wire loosely to hold the branches together,
hang and adjust and tighten the wires..
and wait for the sun to return
to melt the snow
and water the spring shoots..

Beautiful Barb! I hope you get some warmer weather very soon! xx
Wise words and a beautiful wreath!
You are a much better person than me Barbara. I would have arrived home to snow after a holiday in the warmth and sunshine, and I would have cried! 😉 Lovely wreath.
Oh.. there were a few quiet sniffles I think;)
I’m glad you’ve had some time away in the sun but it must have been unbelievable to come back to all that snow! I agree it looks pretty but I can’t believe it’s still there just a few weeks before the start of your summer! What a horrendous winter you’ve endured and I’m not surprised you’ve been thinking of moving. Your cherry blossom wreath is gorgeous and yes, screams of Spring xx
I’m thinking Australia or New Zealand might be a nice place to end up.. even just for a visit;)
Your wreath is very delicate and special, Smidge. I love to see that you made something lovely to distract from the unbelievably persistent winter weather. I’m just shocked to see snow like that this late in the season. I’m sending a very warm hug to you!
Our weather patterns seem to be changing that’s for sure.. we hope there isn’t another flood!
Oh Smidge! We used to say in Michigan you never know when you going to get that late May, June or July snowfall. It is going to tough for the golfers this year as they won’t be able to use a white ball for some time to come and may need to use both the right and left glove in these kinds of conditions. I love your lovely wreath as I just love cherry blossoms, even if there is white outside you can still bring spring inside. Sending some warm thoughts your way. Take care, BAM
Haha, I haven’t learned to golf yet.. so thankfully that’s not my worry at this point. But snowfall.. it has been unrelenting this year. Usually we have one or two surprise snowfalls, this year it just won’t quit!! xx
That pink colour looks stunning, what a beautiful flower 😀
And how creative to make it into a wreath!
Cheers

It’s simple.. how I wish it was made with real twigs!!
I don’t think I could live with that extreme of weather but on the other hand, I couldn’t live without old friends either. The wreath is wonderful – I bet it looks stunning with a snowy backdrop.
When we were on holidays, I was thinking that I am better at tolerating cold than I am high temperatures. I guess it’s what we become acclimatized to? Thanks so much Anne!
Beautiful wreath! The spring is just around the corner! 😉
I sure hope so.. we have been thinking that all winter long..
Oh no, not snow in May, it is beautiful though. Lovely wreath, does not like faux cherry blossom at all.
Oh, Norma.. snow in April, snow in May.. please don’t let there be snow in June too! Aargh!!
Those beautiful blossoms look real to me.
The weather is really weird all over Smidge. We haven’t hit winter yet. It is usually quite cold this time of year and I am still (for the most part) wearing summer clothing.
Have a beautiful day.
🙂 Mandy xo
I remember how late last year’s Spring seemed to arrive — and then came the horrific flooding. I hope that Spring comes soon to you but leaves those floods behind. Your making such a beautiful wreath sure beats sitting around watching the snow melt. Just like putting a bowl of lemons on a table brings sunlight in the dead of Winter, a cherry blossom wreath brings Springtime on a snow-filled day — or two. 🙂
This has been a winter and spring we won’t soon forget. Your wreath is a lovely way to chase away the cold chill of late snow.
