I apologize for my absence here, sometimes I think it’s important to step away, sometimes, and place your instrument down..
whether it be a cello, a paintbrush, spoon or keyboard
in order to create again.
I am just busy living this crazy wonderful life of ours on this planet.
We had a lovely, quiet few days of Thanks-Giving.. giving because my beautiful Sisters-in-Law hosted our families.
♥
I have been painting a little “Plein-Air” { that’s ‘plen-air” not “plane-air” people.. who knew? }
and have been shopping and lunching with my mom.
And working with my awesome clients:D
♥
After my girl’s retreat at a beautiful resort in Mexico,
I decided to remove all refined sugar from my diet
{ excepting, of course, the occasional glass of wine }
♥
I’m madly trying to finish “The Cuckoo’s Calling” by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling)
so that I have time to read our Book Club’s selection, “The Pearl That Broke It’s Shell” by Nadia Hashimi
and..
I’ve been slowly “dialing back” my race to “perfect”.
I honestly don’t have the latest trendy malady “blogger burn-out”, I’m just living life..
so that I might have something new to share with you when I write.
♥
It didn’t occur to me that taking this little breather after a post called “Melancholy” might stir up a bit of a concern for some of my readers..
I apologize and assure you that, truly,
I am well.. and I hope you are, well,
um..
well, too,
as well as well can be.
{ ok there might be a wee glass of white wine involved in this post }
♥
My friend Janet posted this beautiful video on Facebook today and I wanted to share it.
{ she is my artist-friend, owner and curator of Justimajan Art Gallery in Cochrane, you must pop in and say Smidge sent you! }
After so much sorrow-full news from Africa and from Ottawa this week, I hope to remind us all of the beautiful in our world.
Of the exceptional { not the horrible exception }
♥
Of course, having a cello involved makes me biased.. { I miss my orchestra!! }
{ and I’m not gonna lie, I covet that electric cello!! }
I love this..
and I choose to believe our world can still be
Paradise
♥
We spent a long day in the garden, preparing for winter and this evening snow is gently falling, heaven bound on the occasional icy gust of wind.
I must apologize in advance, I shall be popping in here a little less frequently, for
life beckons.
Please forgive.. but know
I shall return to you!
I’m so glad you’re enjoy life, it really is a balancing act of artistic pleasures isn’t it? Love that you paint plein-air, I’ve not tried that before. Loved the video, beautiful sound and amazing views and it really surprised me at how happy the cello player was. I used to play viola in high school…maybe I should try it again.
If you have the time, an instrument is such a gift to give yourself:) I love being creative and there’s so little time!! If only I didn’t need sleep;)
That is a beautiful way of looking at your blog, like an instrument that you play!
Lovely to have you back, and your photos does show an Eden for creative people 🙂
Cheers

Thanks so much CCU.. it’s hard to be away from my blog but such a challenge to find time for everything.. I miss reading your blog:)
I’ve been on what feels like a protracted breather from regular blogging myself, and as you say, it’s all about balancing out the needs and demands of life. It’s important not to be so caught up in the documenting that the joy leeches out of the doing. It’s good to hear you’re out there living life to the fullest, and I know you’ll share your stories when the time is right. Or maybe you’ll keep them close to your heart and their untold meanings will simply shine through in future posts.
What a beautiful way to put those feelings into words “their untold meanings will simply shine through..” I love that! I’m glad you’re having a blast out there too!! As long as we “check in” now and then.. you’re so right, too much documenting and not enough time spent doing isn’t a good thing at all. xx
Good for you! We all need to remember to recharge our batteries from time to time and leave all pressures behind but sometimes we don’t know how. Glad you found a way. Hugs 🙂
Hugs to you too.. I miss being here on a more full-time basis.. it’s such a creative way to express oneself as well.
Good to see you post again! And we all need a break — helps keep us creative. Blogging is fun, but there’s loads more to life — do take time to enjoy it all, even if it means we don’t get as much to read. Excellent post — thanks.
I always miss my blogging friends when I don’t have time to post and read. It makes me feel disconnected when I can’t participate. Thanks so much, I will take that time.. I know from your blog that you are having fun doing lots of other stuff:)
There’s no need to apologize, Barb, and certainly not to me. I’ve been away from WordPress more than I’ve been here for the past 6 months. Life calls and, if we’re smart, we answer. Ours is a very understanding community. They’ve waited patiently for me and I know that we’ll be here whenever you can check in. Do take care till then.
Sometimes we are so anxious to fill our life with so much that we find out we are actually missing life’s real treasures. It sounds like your taking a relaxing break will bring new found joy to your life. Enjoy time doing as little or as much as you want.
